Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy (“Privacy Policy”) which is part of the Stages Terms of Use, describes how We process (e.g. collect, store, share, transfer or otherwise use) Your Data related to Your access and use of Stages. 

To make this Privacy Policy easier to read, We have provided a Glossary, which lists the meaning of the expressions, in capital letters, applicable to all Stages Terms and Policies.

For the purposes of this Privacy Policy, We may refer to the User solely as “You” or “Your” and to VIDEOSTAGE as “VIDEOSTAGE”, “Us”, “We”, “Our”.

This Privacy Policy may be modified, replaced, or removed at any time without prior notice. If You do not agree to the new version of the Privacy Policy, You must stop using Stages.

The “Last Updated” at the top of this page indicates when this Privacy Policy was last revised. Any changes will become effective when we post the revised Privacy Policy.


It is important that You be aware that, due to Your relationship with Us and use of Stages, We may collect Your Data (directly or through any of Our partners or service providers) when You provide Us with them or when You interact with Stages (for example, Your name, e-mail, address and phone might be necessary for Your registration. This processing may have many reasons, such as make it possible for You to register and use Stages, help Us better understand Your uses of Stages, contact You, defend ourselves from a lawsuit, comply with Applicable Laws, amongst others.

We commit to process Your Data only for legitimate purposes (that could vary from the consent You give Us, performance of our contract, compliance with applicable laws etc.) and only while the processing is necessary and/or legally possible.

We are a "data controller" of the personal data that we process in connection with the Stages. This means that we decide the reasons why we process personal data about you and how we do so.

Please be aware that We may share Your Data with certain authorities and offices (as demanded by applicable laws) and to third-parties responsible for supporting Our business and/or Stages (such as technology suppliers, agencies, logistics operators etc.). These third-parties may be located either in Your territory or abroad – in the last, a cross-border Data transfer might be necessary. In this case, such Data is transmitted in an encrypted form.

Nonetheless our preliminary explanation above, please notice that all provisions of this Privacy Policy are extremely important – We highly recommend reading it entirely.

2.1.  What are the purposes of this Privacy Policy? This Privacy Policy establishes the rules and concerns related to (i) how, and for what purposes, Your Data may be processed by VIDEOSTAGE; (ii) with whom Your Data may be shared; and (iii) how You may manage Your Data. This Privacy Policy applies to Your use and access to Stages, including Stages Editor and Your Online Video Store.

2.2.  What Data does this Privacy Policy refer to? For the purposes of this Privacy Policy, “Data” shall be considered all data We may obtain (regardless of whether or it is considered Personal Data) with any connection with the use and access to Stages Editor and Online Video Store.

2.3.  Who is responsible for processing Your Data? VIDEOSTAGE FZCO, a company headquartered at DSO-IFZA-18515, Dubai Silicon Oasis, Dubai, UAE will be responsible for processing Your Data.


3.1  Data may be collected when You provide them to Us directly or through Your interactions with Stages (including Stages Editor and Your Online Video Store), and which will be processed in accordance with applicable legislation, as well as this Privacy Policy and the Cookies Policy.

3.1.1.  Data provided by You: The Data submitted by Creator, including Personal Data, for example, when completing the registry such as (i) full name or company name; (ii) e-mail; (iii) phone number; (iv) address.

3.1.2.  Data collected automatically: It is the Data obtained automatically as a result of Your interactions during Your use of Stages, for example, IP addresses (Internet Protocol, set of numbers that identify the users' computer), time and date of access, cookies and other data collection tools, such as pixels and tags, actions performed by You in Stages, sections accessed by You, date and time information of Your actions and accesses, session ID, mobile device used, if applicable, geolocation, camera, photo gallery, information about Your screen and resolution, time spent, among other information.

3.1.3.  Data collected by third parties: It is the Data obtained through third parties, such as registration, analytic and banking information, and another applicable Data. This happens, for example, when VIDEOSTAGE, for being compliant with legal or regulatory obligations, receives Data from Payment Providers (limited Financial Data, stored on a time-limited basis, for example: payer full name, payer masked document number, type of document, payer bank name, transaction amount, tenant full name, tenant document, tenant  type of document, etc.).

3.1.4.  Linked Accounts. We collect Data when you login to receive for certain third-party services. Additionally, your social media account provider allows you to connect your social media account to your Stages account or log into your Stages account from your social media account. When you enroll in those services, we disclose your Data to those third parties. If you do not want us to collect your Data in this way, do not connect your Stages account with accounts on third-party services.

3.2.  VIDEOSTAGE is not intended for children, and we do not knowingly solicit or collect personal data from children under the age of eighteen (18) without parental consent. If We become aware that the Personal Data of anyone under the age of 18 has been collected, We will cancel Your account created on Stages, terminate your Monthly Subscription Plan, and delete the Personal Data.


4.1. What are the purpose of processing Your Data? We process Your Data with the main purpose of enabling Your access and use of Stages. In addition, Your Data may be used for the additional purposes set forth below (“Authorized Uses”):

  • Link Creator’s Stage Account with third-party social networks and services;
  • Allow Creator to publish their Content;
  • Event registration;
  • Enable Your registry and use of Stages;
  • Verification of Your identity to allow You to join and participate in Stages;
  • Contacting You by telephone, notifications (push) and messages of all kinds, including via messaging applications, SMS and e-mail, to offer advertising and to communicate news and updates;
  • Cross and/or enrich Your Data with other data that is already in Stages's possession, or that may be obtained and included in Our systems;
  • Create demographic, consumption and socioeconomic profiles;
  • Gather statistical and market information;
  • Improve VIDEOSTAGE’s products, services and algorithms;
  • Prepare reports, metrics and other business intelligence solutions and software;
  • Creation of new services, products and functionalities;
  • Targeting advertisements to the holders of Data and third parties;
  • Identification and investigation of suspected fraud, violation of third-party rights or other illicit practices by users, investigation by harmed third parties and/or by competent authorities;
  • Regular exercise of VIDEOSTAGE’s rights, including in judicial, administrative or arbitration proceedings;
  • Identification and prevention of possible security threats;
  • Include the Data among its assets for any and all business purposes, including for corporate restructuring purposes, such as merger, spin-off or incorporation or any other form of asset disposal;
  • Behavioral/transactional analysis to identify and prevent fraud situations and security threats;
  • Personalization and improvement of Stages and its functionalities, based on the way in which it is used; and,
  • Analytics - recognition of profiles and collective consumption habits of Creators, in order to generate statistical Data that allow a better understanding of how Creators interact with Stages.

4.1.1.  Any use of Data for purposes that do not comply with the abovementioned will be made only after VIDEOSTAGE send by email a notice to You, whenever possible and reasonable.

4.1.2.  Corporate Data may be used for any lawful purposes, without prejudice to its non-indication in the provisions above.

4.2.  What are the Legal basis for the processing? The processing of Your Data carried out by Us will always be based on a legal basis, as set by the applicable laws such as:

(i)            Consent. The authorizations (consents) that You grant Us;

(ii)           Execution of the agreement or procedures related to the agreement. The execution of the legal relationship between the parties arising from Your access and use of Stages;

(iii)          Compliance with a legal or regulatory obligation. To be compliant with a legal or regulatory obligation;

(iv)          Regular exercise of rights in legal, administrative, or arbitration proceedings. Any regular exercise of rights in judicial, administrative or arbitral proceedings; and,

(v)           Legitimate interest. When VIDEOSTAGE decides to proceed with a Data processing after doing a careful analysis involving the assessment of the said purpose and need for the processing of the said Data.

We will only use your personal data for the purposes for which we collected it, unless we reasonably consider that we need to use it for another reason and that reason is compatible with the original purpose. Some of the above grounds for processing will overlap and there may be several grounds which justify the processing.


5.1.  With whom VIDEOSTAGE shares Your Data? We will not share Your Data with third parties, except in the cases below.

5.1.1  When Audience interacts with You through Your Online Video Store, Data such as Your username and other Creators Data will be shared with them. Likewise, when Audience purchases a product or service through Your Online Video Store, Your Data may be shared with them and/or Payment Providers, as well as competent authorities.

5.1.2. Some of your Data (for example, contact information, analytic Data, Personal Data, or store keys) may be shared (i) between companies within VIDEOSTAGE’s economic group; and (ii) for third-parties responsible for providing products and services, including but not limited Payment Providers, analytic services, SMS/email delivery providers, CI/CD services etc.

5.2.  Cross-border Data processing. Your Data may be transferred to third-parties that may be located in a territory other than the one where You are located. In such a case, there will be a cross-border Data processing (an international “Data transfer”). VIDEOSTAGE and its third-party shall take reasonable measures as required by law to ensure that such Data is protected and that the cross-border processing is carried out in accordance with one of the international Data transfer mechanisms provided for by applicable law.

5.3.  If you are located in a jurisdiction where transfer of your Data to another jurisdiction requires your consent, then by using Stages you provide VIDEOSTAGE with your express and unambiguous consent to such transfer, storage, and/or processing of the information in other jurisdictions. Therefore, VIDEOSTAGE has taken appropriate measures to ensure Data is handled according to applicable EU data protection rules. In particular, VIDEOSTAGE relies upon Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission to ensure an adequate level of protection for your Data or another approved mechanism for cross-border transfer where appropriate.

5.4.  How long will We keep Your Data? The Data that You have provided Us will be kept in our database (i) as long as our business relationship is maintained; (ii) until Your Data is no longer necessary or pertinent to the achievement of the specific intended purpose; and (iii) until You haven’t exercised Your right to revoke the consent granted.

Subject to the below, we retain personal data for a period of 6 months after the deletion or deactivation of your account on the Stages.

We remind You that VIDEOSTAGE may be legally prohibited from deleting Your Data in case of (a) fulfillment of a legal obligation; or to (b) the draft, exercise and defense presentation in eventual claims presented by third parties in off-court, judicial, administrative or arbitration proceedings. If You revoke Your consent or exercise Your right for Data deletion, Your Data will be kept blocked during the legally established periods to meet the possible responsibilities arising from its processing.

5.5.  What are Your rights? According to the applicable laws, You may be entitled to some rights such as: to confirm the existence of a Data processing, access, rectification, anonymization, blocking, portability, or exclusion of unnecessary, excessive Data. You may exercise these rights by contacting us using the contact details.

VIDEOSTAGE acknowledges and respects Your privacy and we will try to comply with your request as soon as reasonably practicable and consistent with applicable law.

Under certain circumstances and subject to certain exemptions, you have the right to:

(i)            Withdraw your consent to the processing of your personal data: Please note that withdrawing your consent will not affect the lawfulness of any processing carried out before you withdraw your consent.

(ii)           Request to know or access to your personal data: You may receive a copy of the personal data we hold about you and to check that we are lawfully processing it.

(iii)          Request correction of the personal data that we hold about you: You may correct any incomplete or inaccurate personal data we hold about you.

(iv)          Request deletion / erasure of your personal data: You may ask us to delete or remove personal data where there is no legitimate reason for us continuing to process it. You also may ask us to delete or remove your personal data where you have exercised your right to object to processing (see below). Please note that we may not always be able to comply with your request of deletion / erasure for specific legal reasons.

(v)           Request the restriction of processing of your personal data: You may ask us to suspend the processing of personal data about you, for example if you want us to establish its accuracy or the reason for processing it.

(vi)          Request the transfer of some sections of your personal data to another party.

If You submit the request yourself, please ensure that Your request contains sufficient information to allow Us to confirm your identity and properly understand, evaluate, and respond to it.

In order to verify Your identity, we may at times need to request additional personal data from You, taking into consideration our relationship with you and the sensitivity of your request. In certain circumstances, we may decline a privacy rights request, particularly where we are unable to verify your identity.

If your request is made by a third-party authorised by You, we will also require proof that the third-party has permission to submit the request on your behalf (such as a signed document evidencing that the third-party has authority to make the request).

5.5.1. The Data holders (Creator’s) may, in any case, file a complaint before the local National Data Protection Authority, especially when they do not obtain success in the exercise of their said rights.

5.6. Data Exclusion. Data will be deleted from VIDEOSTAGE databases upon (i) request by the Data holder or (ii) when they are no longer necessary for the Authorized Uses, unless there is any other reason, basis legal or contractual, for their maintenance, such as (a) any legal obligation to retain Data, (b) need to preserve Data to protect VIDEOSTAGE rights, (c) VIDEOSTAGE legitimate interests or (d) due to a court order.


5.6.2.  If You request Your Data exclusion, please keep in mind that Your registry and use of Stages will be impossible, and Your relationship with VIDEOSTAGE will be considered terminated, as provided in the Terms. If You decide to use Stages after requesting Your Data exclusion, You must start the entire registry process.



6.1.  This Privacy Policy does not apply to any Data collected by any third-party services, applications, or advertisements associated with, or websites linked from, Stages or Online Video Store. The collection or receipt of the Data by such third parties is subject to their own privacy policies, statements, and practices, and under no circumstances are VIDEOSTAGE will be responsible or liable for any third party’s compliance therewith.

6.2.  The Parties undertake to follow rules of privacy, data protection, confidentiality, or information security requirements, in accordance with best practices and applicable legislation, with the purposes of guaranteeing the confidentiality and proper use of the Data and it’s not disclosure, except as authorized by the Stages Terms and Policies or applicable legislation.

6.3.  Under no circumstances will VIDEOSTAGE, its affiliates or any of its partners or suppliers be liable for any tort, negligence, breach of contract or any other civil or criminal offense that may be caused by You, being Your full responsibility to bear any and all damages, monetary or of any other nature, resulting from its indirect, direct or incidental action, and VIDEOSTAGE has the right of recourse for such situations.

6.4.  VIDEOSTAGE always seeks to maintain technical, physical and administrative security measures to provide reasonable protection for Data against loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure and alteration (such as firewalls, access controls and data encryption).

6.5.  This Privacy Policy replaces all previous disclosures VIDEOSTAGE may have provided to You about Our data processing practices with respect to Stages. VIDEOSTAGE reserves the right, at any time, to modify, alter, and/or update this Privacy Policy, and any such modifications, alterations, or updates will be effective upon our posting of the revised Privacy Policy. VIDEOSTAGE will use reasonable efforts to notify You in the event material changes are made to our processing activities and/or this Privacy Policy. Your continued use of Stages following the said update will constitute Your acknowledgement of the amended Privacy Policy.

6.6.  Depending on the interactions You perform in Stages, it is possible to contract services or products provided directly by third parties. In that case, You will be subject to the terms and conditions of that third party. VIDEOSTAGE has no interference in the establishment of Stages Terms and Policies. If You decide to use third-party services and applications, You do so at Your own risk.
